How do I hire a hat?

Using the hat code (found at the bottom of the hat description) complete our Hat Hire form request with your require by date and we will get back to you within 24 hours to confirm.

Where can I see the hats available to hire?

You can view the hats currently available here.

The prices shown below the hat on this page is the full purchase price, NOT the hire price. 

The price is indicated at the bottom of the "product description" with a code followed by the hire price i.e. Hat Hire Ref: HCHSELENE \ 87GBP

How much does hat hire cost?

You will find a hire code beside any hats we hire in the item description. The code will be followed by the hire price. For example MH201 | 75GBP. This hat will cost £75.00 for one day hire.

It states in the terms that hire is for one day, but do I need to pay for the days it is in the post?

No, one day hire includes postage time to and from your address and refers to one day wear. However, if you return the hat late, you will be charged additional days hire.

Do I pay for postage?

Yes, you will pay both delivery and return postage in addition to the hat hire. Postage will depend on the size of your hat. Large hats will cost more to post. As a general guide hats will cost between £8 - £20 in postage.

Can I collect and return from your showroom?

If possible we can arrange collection in person, however it may not be possible. Our showroom is by appointment only for customers wishing to purchase full price designs and we may be busy in the studio creating and unable to meet you for hand overs. In such instances the hat will be posted to you. If the date is not suitable for returns, you will be required to return the hat by post.

Why cant I see a number for the hat I'd like to hire?

We only hire out selected styles, however, feel free to ask if it doesn't show a number, we can confirm if the hat is available.

Can I choose a different colour?

The hat you see in the main image and described with the hat hire number is the colour we have available to hire. You can purchase outright, a made to order hat in the colour of your choosing. This will take 4 - 6 weeks to create.

Can I hire the hat to wear for more than one day?

The hat hire is charged per person per event, so if you wish to wear for two days, then you will be billed for two consecutive hat hire amounts.

Can someone else wear the hat?

The hat hire is charged per person per event, so if someone else also wears the hat, then you will be billed for 2 hat hire amounts.

I don't live in the UK, can I hire a hat?

Yes and No. If you are attending an event in the UK and have a UK address for the duration, you can absolutely hire a hat. However the hat must not be taken out of the UK at any time for any reason.

Can I request a hire for tomorrow?

You must request and pay for your hat hire a minimum of one week in advance. To avoid disappointment, we'd advise to order earlier. Our cut off for requests is Thursday 5pm for hire the following week.

Hat Care

How do I avoid getting makeup on my hat?

It is important you avoid makeup or cosmetic stains on the hat. We advise always having clean, dry washed hands when touching the hat. Avoid using hair products that may transfer and avoid wearing foundation around the hat area. Stains on the hat will be treated as hat damages.

What happens if it rains?

Hats are not suitable for wearing in the rain or strong winds, we suggest using an umbrella if it rains or wearing only indoors on very windy days or wet days. Damaged caused by extreme weather or water will be treated as damages.


How do I pay?

You will be sent an invoice to pay, only once this is paid is your hat secured for hire.

It says in the Terms and Conditions I may be charged for additional days?

The Terms and Conditions set out instances when you may be charged more. For instance if the hat is lost, damaged or returned late. You can read the full T's & C's here.

Why was I charged for returning the hat late?

The late return of the hat may impact other customers, and therefore impact our business, in such instances your card will be charged at the daily rate until the full cost of the hat plus restocking fee is covered.

What is the restocking fee?

The restocking fee is to recover some of the costs involved in purchasing stock to remake the item lost or damaged.

Returning Hats

How do I return a hat?

You must use the same packaging to ensure the hat is safely returned, we recommend using Royal Mail Special Delivery or similar and purchasing suitable insurance in case the hat is lost or damaged in transit.

When do I need to return the hat?

You must return the hat the day after your event (unless that day falls on a Sunday or bank holiday). Failure to do so may result in an additional hire fee being added daily until the hat is returned.

How do I package the hat?

It is very important you pay attention to how the hat was packaged on receipt. The hat will be packed in such a way that details will be secure and remain intact. Failure to repack the hat as received may result in the hat being damaged and requiring repair.
